BlueNote for Eyecare

BlueNote Lights for Eyecare

Proper handoffs are key to successful optometry and ophthalmology practices, so having a common communication panel gives technicians and opticians precise alerts to know exactly where they are needed in the practice. BlueNotes can be used to time dilations, to let doctors know when a patient is ready in an exam room, and to automate many other workflows.

Because BlueNote Lights is not cloud-based, it will need to be downloaded and installed at each computer where communications are needed. If you are a current customer, you should download using the Customers link above.

Lights are the shared platform from which everyone in the office dives into their own alerts, whether or not they are notifying others, or responding to notifications that are already active. Under the surface you’ll discover Light Actions, which are custom fit to your practice to make Lights relevant and super-responsive.

When BlueNotes are used regularly, they can prevent lost doctors and assistants, save valuable time that can be used to see more patients (or browse social media!) and help everyone avoid staff arguments about who requested what first.

Starting with a friendly design, this configuration separates testing out into its own light, while exam room management is included within each Exam Room light, including Ready for Dr Exam, Doctor in Room, and Optician Needed. Several status lights allow all team members to know when pretesting and optical tables are in use. Walk-In lights help opticians manage patients that are waiting for repairs, dispensing, or other additions as the practice begins to automate many of its communications.

While this configuration is somewhat leaner than the solo doctor practice, it has many of the same capabilities, only in a different form factor, so that there are roughly the same amount of lights doing a little more work. Think of it as variations on a theme, so if the first example doesn’t seem quite right, this one may make more sense. Testing is contained within each Exam Room light, and Optical tables have their own alerts.

Larger practices are served by a division of workflow between the Front Office and the Back Office light panels. This example increases the number without overwhelming the screen with too many Lights all at once. This extensive configuration becomes vital for letting everyone know how many patients are waiting for care, and in the proper order. Call Tabs have been separated so that doctors are assigned to only certain exam rooms, but all of this can be changed to fit your exact needs.

Configure BlueNote

While BlueNote’s features themselves are easy to program and use, the challenge is knowing what to program. What kind of office do you have? How do you want to display tasks and messages? And how do you want your Lights to work? For that, we’ve created some Examples, so that your Lights are pre-set for your type of office. We currently have examples for Dentistry, Eyecare, Medical, Surgery, Veterinary as well as some generic examples.

To use an Online Example, you'll first need to access System Wide Changes from a BlueNote client. Click below to learn how to make changes, including using examples.
